Martin Heaton founded the Joker in May 2002 and originally provided Circus Workshops but has never stopped growing and now provides Circus Workshops, Performances, Parades, Balloon Modelling, Animal Mascot Costumes, Clowns, Stilt Walking, Arts and Crafts and much more.

You will find Martin on site doing a whole range of activities from the Circus Workshop and Stilt Walking to Dancing around in our Animal Mascot Costumes and performing as Bonkers the Clown.

Martin Also deals with all the behind the scenes activities such as the paper work and taking your calls and emails.

The following pictures to the left show a few of our regular entertainers, all with a wide range of skills such as Balloon Modelling, Clowning and Stilt Walking.

Services

At the Joker we can provide a number of services including Circus Workshops, Balloon Modelling Workshops, Team Building Workshops, performances, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling, Stilt Walking, Clowns and Animal Mascot Costumes.

We can also provide a wide range of activities at your school with our ‘School Circus Days’, provide a walking, talking billboard to advertise you Shop or Store and even provide all the entertainment you will need at your child’s Birthday Party.

Past Work

Now in our 6th year we have done a number of events for many councils in many areas such as, Edwinstowe, Warsop, Ashfield, Newark, Mansfield, Nottingham, Sheffield and Rotherham.

These include;

• Summer events such as the Warsop Carnival and Ashfield Show, which we have been invited back to year after year.
  
• Winter events such as Hucknall Christmas Lights event and Edwinstowe Christmas Lights event.
  

Work with ‘the Chad’

‘The Joker’ has worked with the Mansfield and Ashfield Chad on many occasions providing entertainment at ‘Party in the Park’ on Titchfield Park in Mansfield as well as ‘Summer in the Streets’ in Mansfield Town Centre including the opening of the new market square.

We have also worked with the Chad at winter events such as Mansfield and Sutton Christmas lights events.

Due to the relationship ‘the Joker’ has gained with the Chad we are an official supporter of ‘Baby of the year 2007’

Work with Stores

We have worked with large companies such as ‘Asda’ and ‘The Derbyshire Building Society’ advertising their company with Stilt Walkers, Animal Mascot Costumes and Circus Workshops.

Work in Schools

We have also worked in Schools, around the Midlands, providing Playday activities as well as ‘School Circus Days’ encouraging the children with active learning and team building exercises.

As well as working with the children ‘The Joker’ has provided services at teacher’s training days in the form of Team Building Workshops.

Birthday Parties

‘The Joker’ has provided entertainment at countless Birthday Parties around the Midlands area, always trying to tailor the party to the clients needs.

Customer Feedback

Martin and his team have worked with us providing family entertainment for a couple of seasons now. The team are always professional and willing to work even in the most unaccommodating places (using our 18th century building toilets as a changing room is a challenge!)

Party in the Place (the family event to re-open Mansfield Market after refurbishment) was made memorable by the quirky Agent stilt walkers (where do they get their energy from?) and the "Bears" dancing along to the acts on the stage.

Martin happily keeps the children amused at our Summer in the Streets festivals with his stilt walking balloon modelling.

Interacting with the youngsters in the crowd; Santa Bear, the Ice Man and Rudolph all helped create a family atmosphere at the Christmas Switch on Event 2006.

We would not hesitate to employ more acts from The Joker for future events.
